World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of the item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after an update.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a substantial risk that the item may be obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that double or even eliminate chances of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
upgrade item will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When the player upgrade the equipment they have the original item will be replaced with a new item. The same armor will be upgraded to an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could be more expensive even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, with an initial level and a different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
